针对大雪时节流传的种种饮食禁忌（如不吃鸭肉、兔肉、海鲜等），闫怀士认为这些说法绝大多数是片面、夸张且缺乏中医和营养学依据的，是将个体化禁忌错误地推广为普遍法则。
随后，闫怀士从中医理论的“四气五味”饮食原则，逐一分析网帖中罗列的“四不吃”食物。
对于网帖中认为大雪节气中不宜吃的鸭肉，闫怀士表示，其虽然性凉，但能“滋五脏之阴，清虚劳之热”。冬季室内暖气燥热、常吃辛辣温补而容易上火（口干、便秘），此时鸭肉是很好的平补清润之品，尤其适合阴虚内热体质的人。不过，在烹制时加姜、葱、料酒可平衡其凉性。
闫怀士介绍，兔肉虽然也是性凉，但其富含优质蛋白，脂肪含量极低，中医认为其能补中益气。是高蛋白低脂的冬季理想肉类之一，同样适合搭配温性调料，在冬季是可以适当进食的。

闫怀士表示，除了食物的多样性，烹饪方式也会对食材带来影响（如性寒的鸭肉经烤制或与姜同煮，寒性大减）。大雪时节饮食并无特殊禁忌清单，核心在于遵循“温补防燥、均衡多样、因人而异”的原则。对于网络信息，特别是那些制造焦虑、列出绝对化禁令的内容，应保持警惕，以经典中医理论和现代营养学为准则进行判断。
